Incident Summary – Day Shift 20th February

 

 

B6285 Between Exelby and Theakston

Northallerton crew attended a tractor fire. Extinguished using hose reel jets. Vehicle completely destroyed by fire. Cause of fire is believed to be accidental.

 

Gargrave, Skipton

Skipton crew called to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.

 

Leeds Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crew called to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.

 

Main Road, Drax, Selby

Selby crew attended and extinguished a large tree fire. Crew used a hose reel jet and a fire fighting axe to extinguish the fire. Selby crew will revisit the incident tomorrow before closing the incident.

 

Aunums Close, Thornton-Le-Dale, Pickering area

Pickering crew attended a fire involving a vehicle. Fire crew used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. The car involved was completely destroyed by fire and also caused heat damage to a further vehicle, plastic fascia and a window of a nearby property. The owner of the vehicle suffered burns to their face and head. The casualty was given treatment on scene by fire crews until arrival of ambulance paramedics. The casualty was then taken to hospital via road ambulance.

 

Grove Street, Whitby

Whitby crew attended following a report of smoke issuing from a property. Crew confirmed a small oven fire, was out on their arrival. Inspection only, no equipment used.

 

Castlegate, Knaresborough

Fire crews from Knaresborough and Harrogate attended a fire involving a ground floor kitchen of a commercial building. Fire, out on arrival of fire crews. Owner made use of on site extinguishers prior to arrival of fire crews. Fire crews carried out investigations before leaving the incident.

 

Coupland Road, Selby

Selby crew responded after a 14 month old child became locked in a car. Crew gained access to the vehicle and child was reunited with a family member. Child safe and well, no injuries.

 

Flaxley Road, Selby

Selby crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.
