Incident Summary – Night Shift Sunday 28th August

 

 

Sowerby Road, Sowerby, Thirsk

Thirsk crew sent to assist with a male stuck in a lift. On arrival, crews used the lift's manual lowering system to help release the male. One male released safely from lift.

 

St Cuthberts Green, Barton

Richmond crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crews confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a system fault.

 

West Cliff, Whitby

Local crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to insects in the detector.

 

The Mere, Scarborough

Scarborough crew sent to a report of a fire in the open. On arrival, crew extinguished a fire to a small amount of rubbish, using one hose reel jet. Cause believed deliberate.

 

New Street, Tadcaster

Tadcaster crew sent to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

 

Danelaw Gardens, Brompton, Northallerton

Northallerton crew called after a report of a fire in the open. On arrival, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm with good intent due to controlled burning under supervision.

 

Burnholme Avenue, York

York crew sent to a smoke alarm sounding in a property. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.

 

Garden Court, Acomb, York

Acomb crew sent to a smoke alarm sounding in a property. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.

 

Kings Staith, York

York boat crew and Acomb crew along with an officer requested by Police to attend to assist with a possible river rescue after they had been speaking to a female sat on the jetty. Crews stood by and liaised with Police who were speaking with female, still on jetty. Female did not enter water and was left in hands of Police, no action required by Fire and Rescue crews.
