Incident Summary, night shift Friday 6h July

 

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

TOC    17:35   South Crescent, Filey

 

A crew from Filey attended a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding, following investigation this was found to be due to a fault on the system

 

TOC    17:37   Water Lane, Acomb

 

A crew from Acomb attended a report of a youth stuck in a pond, he was out of the pond on arrival of fire service.

 

TOC    17:42   Thornton le Dale, nr Pickering

 

A crew from Pickering attended a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding, following investigation this was found to be due to accidental activation

 

TOC    18:33   Hunton, nr Bedale

 

A crew from Richmond made safe a leaking propane cylinder

 

TOC    19:48   Burton Stone Lane, York

 

A crew from Acomb attended a report of a fire in the open, this was a wheelie bin fire that had spread to a hedge, one hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire.

 

TOC    21:03   Sutton on the Forest

 

A crew from Huntington attended a report of a fire in the open, this was found to be controlled burning under supervision, advice given.

 

TOC    21:11   Beck Hole, Goathland

 

Crews from Whitby and Goathland attended a report of a fire in the open, this was found to be due to campfires being lit, they were extinguished using knapsack sprayers

 

TOC    21:42   Abbey Lane, Whitby

 

A crew from Lithe attended a report of a fire in the open, this was extinguished using one hose reel jet to protect the surrounding area

 

TOC    22:27   York

 

A crew from Acomb attended a report of a fire in the open, this was found to be controlled burning under supervision, advice given.

 

TOC    23:06   Thirsk

 

A crew from Thirsk attended a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding, following an external investigation the cause is unknown

 

TOC    23:35   Sowerby nr Thirsk

 

A crew from Thirsk attended a report of a fire in the open, this was a large bonfire that had been left unattended, one hose reel was used to extinguish the fire.

 

TOC    23:39   Seamer, Scarborough

 

A crew from Scarborough attended a report of a fire in the open, this was found to be controlled burning under supervision, advice given.

 

TOC    23:51   Sherburn in Elmet

 

Two crews from Tadcaster attended a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding, following investigation this was found to be due to accidental activation

 

TOC    00:27   Scarborough Bridge, York

 

A crew from Acomb attended a report of a bin fire, however after a search of the area no fire was found

 

TOC    00:28   Knaresborough

 

A crew from Knaresborough attended a report of flooding inside a property affecting the electrics

 

TOC    00:45   Palmate, York

 

Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of smoke coming from a building, on arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to a smoke cloak activation

 

TOC    00:59   Nether Appleton. York

 

A crew from Acomb attended a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding, following an investigation the cause is believed to be a fault on the system.

 

TOC    01:40   Nether Appleton, York

 

A crew from Acomb attended a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding, following an investigation the cause is believed to be a fault on the system.

 

TOC 02:22      A170 nr Helmsley

 

A crew from Helmsley attended a car fire on the A170. The car was completely damaged by fire. The cause is believed to of been deliberate.

 

TOC    03:04   Clifton Ings, York

 

Crews were called to reports of a fire in the open. On arrival crews discovered approximately 15 bales of hay on fire in a trailer. Crews were unable to extinguish the fire completely due to the bales being inside the trailer. The incident will be open for a revisit later this morning.

 

TOC    04:58   Ferrensby

 

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough were called to a fire in a derelict garage. Crews discovered a small fire within the garage which they extinguished using one hose reel and 2 breathing apparatus. They believed the cause of the fire to be deliberate.

 

TOC    05:38   Jockey Lane, York

 

Crews from Huntington were called to a fire alarm sounding in commercial premises. The cause of the alarm was due to a system fault.

Crews from York were called to a fire alarm sounding in commercial premises. The cause of the alarm was due to a system fault.
