Crews attended a fire alarm activation at a premises, after investigation it was found to be a false alarm due to a believed fault on the system.

Time: 08:39  Location: Station Road, Sessay

Crews from Thirsk and Ripon have attended a tractor fire. Fire was confined to the engine compartment causing 5% fire damage. Owners used 1 dry powder extinguisher prior to our arrival. Fire crews used 1 hose and a thermal imaging camera to inspect. The believed cause was insulation from bonnet dropping onto the engine.

Time: 09:13 Location: Kilgram Lane, Jervaulx

Crews from Masham and Leyburn along with the Malton animal rescue crew, were called to assist a lady whose horse had become trapped up to its shoulders in a bog. The horse named Elvis was rescued by fire crews using animal rescue equipment and with the assistance of a farmer’s tractor. A vet attended and sedated the horse to allow crews to work and release the horse. Elvis was left in care of his owner.

Selby crew attended a property in Selby for the alarm. After investigation crews found there was a fault on the system.

Time: 15:04  Location: A64 Eastbound carriageway, Tadcaster

Crews from Tadcaster, and Acomb attended a Hyundai car on fire on the dual carriageway. The car suffered 100% fire damage, fire crews used 1 hose and breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is believed to be the overfilling of oil.

Time: 6:04 Location: Chapel Street, Easingwold

A crew from Acomb attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a premises. After investigating they found the cause to be dust from workmen working in the vicinity.
