Incident Summary, Night Shift, Tuesday 14th March

 18:03   Fossgate, York

 A crew from York attended a report of an alarm sounding after investigation this was found to be due to accidental breakage of a break glass point.

 20:28   Church Street, West Heslerton

 A crew from Sherburn were sent to a chimney fire it was extinguished using, a hose reel, chy rods, hearth kit and 9m ladder a thermal imagining camera was also used.

22:05   Hibernia Street, Scarborough

 A crew from Scarborough attended a report of an alarm sounding, this was found to be due to cooking fumes.

23:43   Castle Howard Road, Malton

Two Malton crews attended a report of a fire in a bedroom, this had been a fire to a mattress which was out on arrival of crews.  Crews ventilated the property and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.  The cause is believed to be due to a faulty electric blanket.

 

01:54   Coggan Close, York

 

A crew from York attended a property following a report of a smoke logged kitchen, on arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to fumes from a pan left in the oven

 

06:05  York University, University Road, Heslington

 

A crew from York attended the Physics Department on the university campus to a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding – this was found to be a false alarm.
