Incident Summary, Night Shift, Tuesday 4th July

 TOC    17:21   B6267 nr Kirkington

 Crews from Thirsk and Ripon attended a report of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision.  On arrival six people were out of vehicles and being given precautionary checks for minor injuries.  The fire service made the vehicle and scene safe using drizzitt pads and small tools.

 TOC    19:29   The Village, Wigginton, York

 A fire crew from Huntington attended a report of gas leaking in a property, on arrival they isolated the gas supply and ventilated the property.

 TOC    19:40   Lendal Bridge, York

 Fire crews from Acomb and a boat from York responded to a report of a male in the River Ouse, on arrival the male had been removed from the river, no service.

 TOC    21:08   Burgate, Pickering

 Crews from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside attended a report of smoke coming from a flat.  On arrival they found the first floor to be heavily smoke logged, the fire was believed to have started in a pan on the hob.  Crews ventilated the property. Two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera were used.

 TOC    02:16   Century Walk, Harrogate

 Crews from Harrogate, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge attended a report of a fire in a flat with a person still inside, on arrival crews wearing breathing apparatus searched the flats and rescued two males from two different flats.  Four people were treated for smoke inhalation, two were taken to hospital for further treatment  The fire was extinguished and the premises ventilated using  two BA, one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan.  The cause of the fire is believed to possibly be due to smoking materials.

 TOC    04:25   Buttermere Drive, York

Crews from Acomb and York attended a report of a roof fire, on arrival this was found to be a false alarm and there was no fire found         


Crews from York, Acomb and Masham have also attended various automatic fire alarms through the night, none of which were as a result of fire.
