Incident Summary, Day shift, Wed 8th March 2017

 07:40   Hambleton Grove, Knaresborough,

A crew from Knaresborough attended a  report of an alarm sounding, on arrival this was found to be due to accidental activation.

 09:58   Merlin House, Sherburn in Elmet

A crew from Tadcaster attended a car fire, this was found to be due to an electrical fault and caused complete damage to the engine compartment.  Three fire extinguishers were used prior to the arrival of the fire service.  Crews used one hose reel to extinguish the fire and drizzit pads for leaking fuel

 10:30  Dene Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough attended a fire in the open, this was due to controlled burning left unattended.  The fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet and advice given to the occupier.

 12:06  Cuddy Brown Close, Pickering

A crew from Pickering and Malton attended a kitchen fire which was due to heat from a toaster that spread to adjacent carrier bags.  The fire was out on arrival crews used 2 breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to carry out to investigate.

 12:15  A169, Low Marishes nr Malton

Crews attended a report of a road traffic collision involving chemicals, three fire engines and and Incident Support Unit were sent, on arrival crews established that the chemicals were all secured and no danger to the public and the occupant of the vehicle was unharmed.  Inspection only carried out by fire service.

 12:42  The Promenade, Bridlington

An aerial ladder platform from Scarborough assisted with making safe an unstable cowling on a chimney pot.

 13:19  Helredale Gardens, Whitby

A crew from Whitby have attended a report of a fire in the open this was found to be controlled burning, advice has been given to occupants.

 14:26   Mill Lane, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough attended a report of a fire alarm sounding, after investigation this was found to be due to a breakglass point being accidentally broken

 15:42   Agricultural fire near Marton in the Forest

Crews from Easingwold and Acomb attended a small fire within an agricultural building, one hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire.

 16:31   Car Lane, East Heslerton

A crew from Sherburn attended a fire in the engine compartment of a car, the fire was out on arrival of fire service and advice was given to the owner, bucket of water used
