Incident Bulletin Night Shift Thursday 23rd August 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Scalby Road, Scarborough - Time of call 17:50

Scarborough fire crews attended a cigarette bin well alight. Fire was extinguished using a hose reel.

A1 Southbound, Junction 50, Baldersby  - Time of call 18:39

Fire crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge attended a three vehicle road traffic collision. No people were trapped inside vehicles; however one person was treated by paramedics with a suspected spinal injury. Fire crews assisted Ambulance crews at the scene.

Station Parade, Harrogate  - Time of call 19:57

Harrogate fire crews attended an automatic smoke alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm caused by accidental activation of the break glass call point.

Micklegate, York - Time of call 20:34

York fire crews assisted owners of a commercial premises with a water leak inside the property. This was caused by the drainage system failing following a bout of rainfall.

Barlby, Selby - Time of call 21:39

Selby fire crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a commercial property. This was a false alarm.

Hutton Le Hole, Kirkbymoorside - Time of call 23:14

Fire crews from Helmsley responded to a car fire caused by an electrical fault in the engine. Car was destroyed by fire, crews extinguished fire using two hose reels and two breathing apparatus.

A163, Barlby - Time of call 00:22

Fire crews from Selby responded to reports of a large fire believed to be a barn. On arrival crew confirmed this was two large hay stacks involving approximately 500 bales well alight. Crews stayed with fire allowing to burn out and to prevent fire spread. The cause of the fire is unkown.

Gristhorpe, Filey - Time of call 00:27

 Scarborough fire crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a residential property. This was a false alarm.

Hazlewood, Tadcaster - Time of call 02:02

Tadcaster fire crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a residential premises. This was a false alarm.

Bishopthorpe Road, York - Time of call 02:38

York fire crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a residential premises. This was a false alarm.

A64 Staxton - Time of call 06:34

Scarborough crews have attended reports of a car fire. This was a false alarm and was caused due to a mechanic fault.
