Incident Summary Day Shift 16th January

16th January 2016

Round up of incidents today - Saturday 16th June 2016.


10:37 Castlegate, Malton.

A crew from Malton attended this incident after reports of flooding to properties. On arrival the crew discovered that a large water pump was already in use, but that the delivery hose had dislodged, causing flooding to the properties. The crew assisted with relocating the delivery hose and carried out further investigations in properties to ensure no further pumping out was required.  


13:17 Barlow, Selby area.

A crew from Selby attended this incident after a report of smoke issuing from the engine of a vehicle. On arrival, the crew confirmed it was a false alarm caused by a blown turbo on the vehicle. Inspection only by FRS crew.


15:12 Stainsacre, Whitby area.

Whitby crew were called out to this area after reports of a sheep stuck in mud, they also travelled with their 4x4 vehicle for access to the location. After the animal was located, crews successfully rescued using manpower and small tools. The sheep was then left in the hands of the owner.


16:35 Stockton Lane, York

Small fire in kitchen of property. Fire confined to the stove and out on arrival of Fire Crews from Acomb and Huntington. Crews assisted with ventilating the property. No casualties.
