Incident Summary Night Shift 22nd March

Round up of incidents for – Night shift 22nd March.

18:14 Merchants Row, Scarborough.

Scarborough crews with their Aerial Ladder Platform attended a special service call to assist the Police to gain entry to a property and possible access to a roof space. Fire crews used bolt croppers to gain access, but no further action was required. Incident left with Police.

18:16 Lealholm Moor, Glaisdale

A crew from Danby were called to reports of a large fire in the area. On arrival and after investigation, crews confirmed this to be a false alarm with good intent due to controlled burning being carried out, well supervised, in the area.

19:25 B6480, Bentham.

Crews from Bentham and Settle attended a single vehicle road traffic collision. One male casualty trapped in the vehicle by seat belt. Fire and Rescue crews administered first aid to the casualty in the vehicle and assisted with manpower to release him from the vehicle. Casualty then left in hands of paramedics.

20:55 Royal Avenue, Scarborough.

Crews from Scarborough attended reports of smoke sighted in a property. On arrival, the crews found this to be a false alarm with good intent due to a dry powder fire extinguisher being released in a property. Crews remained in attendance at incident until arrival of Ambulance personnel, due to one occupant of the property suffering inhalation of the dry powder from the extinguisher. Incident then left in hands of Police.

21:08 Tockwith Road, Tockwith

A crew from Acomb attended an automatic fire alarm signal at a commercial premise. On arrival and after investigation, crews confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

21:20 Fostergate, Selby

Fire crews from Selby attended and dealt with a fire in a kitchen. Extinguished using one hose reel and property ventilated using Positive Pressure Ventilation fan. The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental. One male occupant suffered smoke inhalation and was left in hands of paramedics.

23:53 Barlby Road, Selby

A crew from Selby attended an automatic fire alarm signal at a commercial premise. On arrival and after investigation, crews confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a rise in pressure in the sprinkler system.
