Round up of incidents – Night Shift Saturday 7th May

 

 

Grimwith Road, Grassington

Grassington crew attended reports of a tumble dryer on fire. On arrival, the fire was out. Full inspection carried out by fire service and advice given. 100% fire, heat and smoke damage to tumble dryer.

 

Woodfield Square, Harrogate

Harrogate crew called to a petrol can on fire in a garden. On arrival, the fire was out. Inspection only by fire crew. Cause, accidental. Advice given.

 

Greensborough Avenue, York

Acomb crews called to a report of smoke coming from an electric socket. On arrival, crews confirmed a fire had occurred, but was now out. Inspection and electrics made safe.

 

The Avenue, Harrogate

Harrogate crew called to an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and after investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to fumes from an aerosol.

 

Main Street, Heslington, York

Local crews called to reports of smoke in a property. On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a false alarm with good intent due to an appliance overheating. Full inspection carried out with a Thermal Image Camera.

 

Walton Place, York

Acomb crew called to a report of smoke in the area. On arrival and after investigation, crews confirmed this to be a false alarm with good intent due to controlled burning, under supervision.

 

Fitzjohn Close, Malton

Local crews called to reports of smoke coming from back of property. On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a false alarm due to occupant using a chimnea in garden, under supervision. Advise given.

 

Road leading into Arkendale, just off A1

Knaresborough and Boroughbridge sent to reports of a vehicle in a ditch. On arrival, crews confirmed single vehicle road traffic collision. No persons trapped. Full search of area carried out to check for casualties. Police advise aware of incident, occupant of vehicle out and awaiting recovery.
