Round up of incidents for Day Shift Monday 1st Feb

08:10 - Little Catterton Lane, Islington, near Tadcaster

A crew responded to an alarm activation and after investigation found it to be a false alarm due to a fault in the detector. Advice given.

08:13 - Park Street, Hovingham

A crew from Malton responded to an alarm activation and after investigation found it to be a false alarm due to a fault in the alarm. Advice given.

08:41 - Raleigh Street, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough along with the Aerial Ladder Platform vehicle attended and dealt with four loose chimney pots by making safe and removing any in danger of falling.

10:08 - Dene Park, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to an alarm activation at a property on Dene Park, on arrival found there had been a small fire in the property. The fire was out on arrival of the crew, so ventilation of the property was carried out and advice given, before leaving the scene.

 10:17 - A1 Northbound, Leeming to Catterick junctions.

Crews from Bedale and Northallerton attended a road traffic collision in this area. After initial reports of three vehicles involved, it was confirmed on arrival to be a single vehicle road traffic collision. Fire and Rescue crews provided general assistance at the scene and stabilised the vehicle before leaving in the hands of Police and Ambulance.  

 11:22 – North End to Crakehall Road, Bedale

Crews from Bedale and Northallerton responded to reports of a fire at a property in the area. On arrival, crews found this to be a false alarm with good intent, due to soot from a boiler room being mistaken for smoke. Inspection only, incident left with engineer.

11:52 – Dundas Street, York

A crew from York responded to an alarm activation at a property in the area. On arrival, crews confirmed smoke within the building and requested further crews from Acomb, Tadcaster and Huntington with their Aerial Ladder Platform vehicle as precaution. The fire had started and been confined to a cable joint on site, crews carried out full inspection of the building with a Thermal Image Camera to ensure the fire had not spread.

12:23 – Bright Street, York

Crew in York area attended and dealt with a first floor window overhanging a public footpath. 9 metre ladder used to access and small tools to make safe and secure.

14:08 – Leeman Road, York

A crew from Acomb attended and dealt with various loose wooden panels and glass from roof areas using a triple extension ladders and a roof ladders to access, and small tools to make safe.  

15:46 – Plum Street, Norton, Malton

Crews from Malton and an Officer are currently in attendance dealing with a steel roof which has been blown from a residential property in the area. A structural engineer and Police have been requested to attend. Fire and Rescue crews have evacuated a female resident from the property and are now making the area safe.
