Incident Summary Dayshift 25th  November 2016

09:39     Westbourne Road, Whitby

Fire crews from Whitby, Lythe and a Fire Officer attended a property fire which started in the kitchen, this resulted in extensive fire, heat and smoke damage to the kitchen. The remainder of the property suffered smoke damage. A 10 week old cocker spaniel puppy called George was rescused from the property by fire crews wearing Breathing Apparatus. He was taken to the vets for a precautionary check up. Crews used 2 Hose Reels, 4 Breathing Apparatus, PPV fan and Hand Tools.

11:28     B6161, Beckwithshaw

2 Fire crews from Harrogate attended a single vehicle road traffic collision. The female driver of the vehicle was out of the vehicle on arrival of the fire crews and was with paramedics on scene suffering minor injuries. Fire crews removed the battery of the vehicle and stabilised it, making the vehicle safe.

12:59     Near Greta Bridge, A66, Newsham

Fire crews from North Yorkshire and Durham attended a 4 vehicle road traffic collision including one LGV tanker. Crews assisted with the extrication of one casualty who was taken to hospital via air ambulance.  One other casualty from the scene  was taken to hospital suffering unknown injuries. Crews assisted with making vehicles safe on the scene. This incident was in Durham’s area and North Yorkshire assisted their fire crews on scene.

13:26     Brackenber Lane, Giggleswick, Settle

Fire crews from Settle and Bentham attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving 1 car and 1 HGV. The driver of the HGV was out of the vehicle on arrival of fire crews and was treated on scene by paramedics. Crews assisted in making the vehicle safe.

15:45     Hull Road, Hemingbrough

Fire crews from Selby and Acomb attended a fire at a commercial property. This was a scrap car on fire causing 100% fire damage to the vehicle. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel and 2 breathing apparatus.

16:27     Ripon Road, Kirkby Malzeard

A Fire crew from Masham attended an alarm sounding at a commercial property.
