Night Shift Saturday 3rd December Summary

Saturday 3rd December

Time: 1831     Incident No. 6325      Location: Stonegate, York

A child locked in a café toilet was released by a fire crew from Acomb using small tools.

Time: 1833     Incident No. 6237      Location: A64 Grimston Lodge

Crews from York, Huntington & Tadcaster attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. 1 person was rescued from a car by fire crews using cutting equipment.

Time: 1919     Incident No. 6330      Location: B1416 Sneaton

Crews from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay attended reports of a bus smoking after breaking down. No fire, crews made the scene safe only.

Time: 6332     Incident No. 6331      Location: Weaponness, Scarborough

Reports of smoke issuing from college buildings found to be a false alarm.  Steam from heating vents was mistaken for smoke.

Sunday 4th December

Time: 0004     Incident No. 6333      Location: A165 Speeton

Filey crew, assisted by a Humberside Fire appliance extinguished a car fire.  The fire is believed to have started due to an electrical fault and was 100% destroyed.

Time: 0114     Incident No. 6335      Location: Alexandria Way, Richmond

A male was rescued from a flat after a kitchen fire. Fire crews extricated the male and gave first aid before he was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering suspected smoke inhalation. The fire was extinguished and the property ventilated.         

Time: 0325     Incident No. 6337      Location: St Georges Road, Harrogate

A fire crew assisted a gas engineer by gaining access to, and ventilating, an empty property that was suspected of being full of gas. The engineer was then able to investigate the source of the gas.
