Incident Summary Day Shift Saturday 30th  June 2018

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

 

Gayle, Hawes

Time of call: 09:33

 

A crew from Hawes have assisted paramedics gain entry to a property to treat a male casualty.  9m ladder and manpower used.

Main Street, Saxton

Time of call: 11:20

 

A crew from Scarborough and Filey have attended reports of a kitchen fire. On arrival crews found one camping stove alight and used one hose reel to extinguish. Crews ventilated the property.

Lodge Lane, Danby

Time of call: 11:46

 

A crew from Danby have assisted districts nurses to gain entry to a male casualty who had collapsed. Crews used manpower to gain entry and lift male casualty. Left in care of district nurses.

A65, Gargrave

Time of call: 11:58

 

A crew from Skipton have attended reports of a fire in the open. On arrival crews found one small fire in a field unattended. Crews used one hose reel jet.

Norton, Malton

Time of call: 12:39

 

Crews from Malton have attended reports of an alarm sounding within a residential property. This was a false alarm caused due to a fault on the system.  

Raincliffe Woods, Scarborough

Time of call: 12:42

 

A crew from Scarborough have attended a small fire up near Raincliffe Woods. Crews used beaters and backpacks.

 

Kirkbymoorside

Time of call: 14:08

 

A crew from Kirkbymoorside and a hazardous materials officer have attended a property where the occupier had mixed ammonia with bleach to carry out cleaning. Crews made the property safe, while awaiting the arrival of the hazardous material officer,  by ventilating the property and monitoring the conditions inside.

Otley Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 14:18

 

A crew from Harrogate have attended reports of a three vehicle road traffic collision. On arrival all persons were out of the vehicles and no action was required by the Fire Service.

A19 Ellerbeck

Time of call: 15:11

 

Crews from Northallerton have attended reports of a car fire in a layby of the A19. On arrival this was a false alarm and was caused due to an overheating engine.  

Richmond Road, Catterick Garrison

Time of call: 15:44

 

A crew from Richmond and Leyburn have attended reports of a smell of burning coming from a commercial premise. This was a false alarm due to an overheating fan motor.

Lansdowne Terrace, York

Time of call: 15:58

 

A crew from York and Acomb have attended reports of a cooker fire within a residential property. Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish.

 

Tower Street, York

Time of call: 15:44

 

A crew from Acomb have attended a smoking lamppost. The fire was out on arrival and crews inspected only.
