In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.
Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.
Endcliff Crescent, Scarborough
Time of call: 10:43
A crew from Filey have attended a small fire to a wooden bench. Crews used a bucket of water to extinguish.
A169, Goathland
Time of call: 11:30
A crew from Whitby and Goathland have extinguished approximately 200 metres of grass on fire along side a railway line. Crews used four backpack sprayers and two lengths of 45mm hose.
North Street, York
Time of call: 12:13
A crew from York have extinguished a wheelie bin on fire behind a commercial premise. Crews used one hose reel jet.
Ouse Bank, Selby
Time of call: 14:56
A crew from Selby have extinguished a small grass fire using a hose reel jet.
Skelton Road, Boroughbridge
Time of call: 15:05
A crew from Boroughbridge have extinguished approximately ten metres by fifty metres of manure on fire. Crews liaised with the farmer to break up manure and dampen down using a hose reel jet.
Back Lane, Alne
Time of call: 15:12
A crew from Easingwold have attended reports of a fire in a back garden. Crews found this to be controlled burning and left it in the hands of the owner.
Colburn Lane, Colburn
Time of call: 15:45
A crew from Richmond have attended reports of a fire in the open of Colburn Lane. This was a false alarm and was controlled burning.
