Incident Summary Day Shift Thursday 16th  August  2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

 A65, Skipton Time of call: 10:04

 A crew from Skipton and our colleagues from Keighley have attended a serious road traffic collision involving two vehicles. Crews extricated one female from a vehicle using hydraulic cutting gear and small tools before transferring her into the care of the paramedics.

Town Farm Close, Kirkbymoorside Time of call: 12:02

A crew from Kirkbymoorside have released a 15 month old child who managed to lock themselves into a bedroom. Crew gained access via the bedroom window and unlocked the door.   

Heslington Road, York Time of call: 13:27

Crews from York, Acomb and Huntington have attended a residential property that had smoke issuing from the basement. Crews carried out a search of the basement using four breathing apparatus and two hose reels before locating a small fire to an electrical unit. Crews ventilated the basement and gave advice to a responsible person.

High Cleugh, Ripon Time of call: 14:04

A crew from Ripon have extinguished a small campfire using wildfire sprayers. The cause is believered to be deliberate. 

Acaster Lane, Bishopthorpe Time of call: 16:31

A crew from York have assisted paramedics in transferring a male casualty into an ambulance. Crews used manpower only.
