Incident Summary Day Shift Friday 2nd November  2018

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

 

Snainton Lane, Snainton

Time of call: 10:43

 

A crew from Sherburn and Scarborough have attended a property where the outside electricity meter had caught alight. Crews found the fire to be out on arrival after being extinguished by the occupier. Crews gave first aid to occupier before leaving him in care of ambulance service. Crews inspected fire and carried out a home fire safety talk.

Hunmanby, Filey

Time of call: 11:30

 

A crew from Filey and Scarborough have extinguished a tumble dryer on fire within a residential property. On arrival crews committed two breathing apparatus wearers with a hose reel and thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire.

Vincent Way, York

Time of call: 14:01

 

A crew from Acomb have released three young children from a bedroom after the door mechanism failed. Crews used a triple extension ladder to gain access to a first floor window and small tools to release the children.

Harlow Moor Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 14:45

 

A crew from Harrogate have extinguished a small fire in the woods that was believed to be set deliberately by youths. Crews used a backpack sprayer.

Clotherholme Park, Ripon

Time of call: 14:58

 

A crew from Ripon have released a young child’s hand after it became trapped in a door. Crews used a hooligan tool to release the hand from the door and gave it a check over.

Hanover Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 15:37

 

Crews from Scarborough, Filey and the aerial ladder platform from Scarborough have attended a developed fire inside commercial premises. Crews are still at the scene and the incident is still ongoing.

 

Scruton, Northallerton

Time of call: 15:55

 

A crew from Northallerton have attended reports of a fire in a rear garden. On arrival crews found a small fire next to the property and extinguished it using a watering can. Crews gave advice to the occupiers due to the close proximity to the building.
