Incident Summary Day Shift Monday 5th November  2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

Station Road, Tadcaster

Time of call: 08:52

A crew from Tadcaster have attended reports of smoke entering a commercial premise due to a controlled burning left unsupervised. Crews used one hose reel.

Scarborough Road, Malton

Time of call: 09:56

A crew from Malton have attended reports of a fire in a rear garden of a residential property. On arrival crews found this to be controlled burning and posing no threat to neighbouring properties.

Richmond Road, Brompton-On-Swale

Time of call: 11:23

A crew from Richmond and Colburn have extinguished a shed fire. The shed was approximately 5 metres by 4 metres and the fire had spread to a neighbouring fence. Crews used two hose reels to extinguish the fire and thankfully, after initial reports stated otherwise, no cylinders were involved.

Barlby Road, Selby

Time of call: 13:33

A crew from Selby have extinguished a tree that was smouldering close to the Selby canal. Crews used one hose reel.

Carleton, Skipton

Time of call: 14:39

A crew from Skipton have attended reports of a rubbish fire next to a telephone exchange. On arrival fire crews found that the fire was to a book left on the pavement and was out on arrival.  

A165, Lebberston

Time of call: 14:40

A crew from Filey have responded to a call regarding a large fire in the distance off the A165. On arrival crews found this to be controlled burning which was supervised by a responsible person, therefore left it in their hands.  

A1 Northbound, Selby Fork

Time of call: 14:41

A crew from Tadcaster as well as our colleagues from West Yorkshire Fire Service at Pontefract have extinguished a fire to a transit van. Crews believe the fire was due to an electrical fault however further investigations are still ongoing. Crews used 1 hose reel.

M62 Junction 34 Flyover

Time of call: 15:21

A crew from Selby and Tadcaster have responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and heavy goods vehicle. On arrival, one female casualty was released by ambulance crews prior to our arrival. No fire services resources were required.

Thornton-le-Dale, Pickering

Time of call: 15:46

A crew from Pickering have extinguished a small fire in the open using one hose reel.

Windmill Lane, York

Time of call: 15:52 

A crew from York have extinguished a small fire in the open which was left unattended. Crews used a hose reel.
