Incident Summary Night Shift Friday 3rd  August  2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

A19, Tollerton Time of call: 18:09


Crews from Easingwold have extinguished a car fire just off the A19 at Tollerton. Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet. The fire was confined to the engine compartment.  

A63, Monk Fryston Time of call: 18:11


A crew from Selby have attended reports of a fire in the open. On arrival this was a false alarm due to controlled burning.    

Badger Paddock, Huntington Time of call: 19:00


A crew from Huntington have released a teenager who became stuck in a piece of playground equipment at height. Crews used a triple extension ladder to bring the teenager back to the ground.

Westfield Crescent, Tadcaster Time of call: 22:26


Crews from Tadcaster and Acomb have attended reports of a fire within a residential property. On arrival crews found the fire to be confined to the rear of the property and used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the fire. Crews made the scene safe and carried out fire investigations. The cause is still under investigation.

George Street, Skipton Time of call:01:56


Crews from Skipton have gained access to  a property on behalf of the police to assist an gentleman with medical issues. Crews used a hooligan tool and ambulance were in attendance.  

Sheepfoot Hill, Malton Time of call: 06:06


Crews from Malton have attended reports of a house fire this morning where persons were still reported to be inside after a neighbour had heard an alarm sounding. . This turned out to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes and crews were able to wake up the occupants who had not heard the alarm. Crews ventilated the property.
