Crews have attended automatic fire alarms in York and Acomb this evening. Thankfully these were a false alarm.

Sea View Drive, Scarborough

Time of call: 20:03

Crews from Scarborough have attended a roof fire this evening. On arrival crews found a small fire in the roof space above the kitchen. Crews cut back and exposed the roof to gain access to the fire. Crews used lighting, thermal imaging camera, small tools, grinder, ladders and hose reel.  

Stony Lane, Osmotherley

Time of call: 21:25

Crews from Stokesley have attended reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision with persons trapped inside. On arrival all persons were out of the vehicle and no fire service action was required.

Keepers Wood, Bedale

Time of call: 03:48

Crews from Bedale, Masham and Ripon have attended a road traffic collision involving a heavy goods vehicle and a tree. One male driver, aged approx. 40s, was trapped inside the cab. Crews used lighting, small tools, stabilisation equipment as well as a specially designed platform to gain access to the cab and extricate the casualty.  The driver was left in the hands of the ambulance service and transported to hospital via road.
