In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Crews from around the county have attended a number of automatic fire alarms today. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

Long Preston, Skipton

Time of call: 09:47

A crew from Skipton and Settle have attended reports of a kitchen fire. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

A1237 York

Time of call: 12:06

A crew from York have attended reports of a fire in the open. This was a false alarm as no fire could be located.

Selby area

Time of call: 14:32

A crew from Selby have extinguished a attended a small rubbish fire that was out on arrival. No action by Fire Service.

New Road, Ingleton

Time of call: 14:58

A crew from Bentham and Settle have attended a two vehicle road traffic collision. Occupants of one vehicle were out  on arrival of fire service however crews extricated one female from second vehicle. She was transported to hospital via air ambulance.

Fanny Lane, Knayton

Time of call: 15:11

A crew from Northallerton and Thirsk have attended a chimney fire due to a birds nest within the chimney. Advice was given to owners while crews used chimney rods, thermal imaging camera and hose reels.

Heslington Lane, York

Time of call: 15:15

A crew from York have extinguished a bin fire using a bucket of water.

Castle Road, Whitby

Time of call: 16:08

A crew from Whitby have used sand and drizit pads to clean up diesel leak at a petrol station.

A1M Northbound J48 Boroughbridge

Time of call: 16:08

A crew from Ripon, Boroughbridge and Knaresborough have attended reports of heavy goods vehicle on fire. On arrival this was a false alarm due to oil leaking onto overheating engine causing smoke.

Harome, Helmsley

Time of call: 18:34

A crew from Helmsley have made a single vehicle safe after it collided with a telegraph pole.  

Littlethorpe Lane, Littlethorpe

Time of call: 19:28

A crew from Ripon and Boroughbridge have attended reports of a tumble dryer on fire. On arrival crews found the fire to be out and inspected only.

Middlewood Lane, Fylingthorpe

Time of call: 22:45

A crew from Robin Hoods Bay have extinguished a skip that was well alight using a hose reel jet.

Scholes Park Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 23:41

A crew from Scarborough and Filey have extinguished a hedge fire that had spread to a garden shed. Crews used hose reel jet, tripe extension ladder and lighting.

Marage Road, Thirsk

Time of call: 01:19

A crew from Thirsk have extinguished a park bench on fire using a hose reel.

Grange Park Road, Ripon

Time of call: 02:14

A crew from Ripon have dampened down a car fire after it was extinguished prior to arrival of the fire service using a dry powder extinguisher. Crews used a thermal imaging camera and bucket of water.
