Incident Summary Night Shift Sunday 10th December 2017

Crews have attended numerous automatic fire alarms throughout the night with all being false alarms. These have been in Northallerton, Leyburn, Huntington, Easingwold. Knaresborough and Skipton.

Busby Lane, Great Busby

Time of call: 18:03

A crew from Stokesley and Coulby Newham have attended reports of a log burner on fire with smoke issuing from the roof. Crews removed walled panels to expose the seat of the fire which was smouldering and dampened the fire down using a hose reel. Crews used a triple extension ladder, lighting, small tools and a Dewalt saw also.

St Georges Place, York

Time of call: 18:31

A crew from Acomb and York have attended a kitchen fire. Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel. Crews found the fire was confined to the oven. Crews after extinguishing the fire used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear light smoke inside the property.

Mill Dike Lane, Coxwold

Time of call: 19:30

A crew from Easingwold and Thirsk attended reports of a fire off Mill Dike Lane. This turned out to be a false alarm due to controlled burning.

High Street, Hampsthwaite

Time of call: 19:31

Crews from Harrogate have attended a log burner on fire. This turned out to be a collection of logs next to the log burner smouldering and not the log burner itself. Crews used a hose reel to dampen down the logs and used a thermal imaging camera to check for further hot spots.

Thirsk Road, Northallerton

Time of call: 19:42

A crew from Northallerton have extinguished a small fire in an underpass using a hose reel.

Cambridge Street, Harrogate

Time of call: 23:45

A crew from Harrogate have extinguished a bin on fire using a hose reel.

Lowthorpe, East Witton

Time of call: 05:43

Crews from Leyburn and Masham have attended reports of a kitchen fire. Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel. Crews thoroughly checked the property for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera and found the fire was confined to the kitchen only.
