08:58 Sowerby
A fire crew from Thirsk were mobilised to a person stuck in a lift in a property. Crews manually opened the lift doors and released the person using lift keys.
10:40 Selby
Fire crews from Selby, Acomb and Tadcaster were sent to reports of a potential chemical substance being thrown at a property in Selby. Along with NYFRS Hazardous Materials officers with specialist equipment fire crews were able to identify this as being an animal or plant based oil posing no threat. Fire crews used drizzet pads to absorb the oil.
13:01 Abbey Road, Knaresborough
Knaresborough crew were called after a man contacted Fire Control after his dog had fallen down a hole approx. 10ft deep located between 2 houses. Oscar the Cockapoo was rescued uninjured by fire crews using a triple extension ladder and handed back over to his owner.
13:26 High Street, Stokesley
Fire crew from Stokesley were called to reports of an electricity box on fire in a property. The fire was out upon arrival of crews who used a thermal imaging camera to investigate. The fire caused minimal damage and was believed to have been due to an electrical fault.
16:21 Great Habton, Malton
2 fire crews attended reports of a smell of smoke in a property after a thorough investigation including the use of a thermal imaging camera, crews have reported back that this is a false alarm good intent and no fire was found.
Fire crews from across the county have also attended a number of automatic fire alarms which have activated in various locations. All of these have been thoroughly investigated and found to be false alarms.
