Incident bulletin 30th Oct night shift

31st October 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

  

18:11 Recreational ground, Eggborough

 Selby crew were called to reports of small fires been lit on play areas. Crews attended and found evidence of a small fire which had been extinguished by a member of the public prior to fire crew’s arrival using a bucket of water. Crews have put the cause back as being believed deliberate ignition.

 

19:46 Colburn Business Park

Colburn and Richmond crew were called to reports of a fire in a commercial bin. Crews attended and extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet. The cause is again believed to have been of deliberate ignition.

 

19:55 Lawkland

A fire crew from Bentham were called to reports of a chimney fire at a property. Crews attended and tackled the fire from the hearth using small tools and thermal imaging camera. The cause is believed to have been due to an accumulation of soot.

 

20:53 Hempland Lane, York

One of our officers attended a property to assess reports that an 8 month old cat had fallen behind some new kitchen units. This was indeed the case and the officer used small tools to remove the facia board and release the cat into the hands of its owner.

 

Fire crews from across the county have also attended a number of other incidents including automatic fire alarms throughout the night shift.
