Incident Summary 15th August Night Shift

16th August 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

Wheeldale Road, Pickering Time of call 17:11

Crews attended a fire in the open approcimately 30sqm in size. Crews extinguished the fire.

Threhfield Skipton – Time of call 18:17

Crews from Grassington responded to an alarm activation, false alarm.

The Carrs Whitby – Time of call 18:32

Crews from Lythe and Robins Hoods Bay responded to a kitchen fire. Occupants and fire were out on arrival of fire service. 1 female occupant was taken to hospital for check up. 1 hose reel, 2 breathing apparatus and thermal imaging camera used. Fire survival advice was also given to occupants by control room staff. The cause of the fire was a chip pan.

York – Time of call 19:15

York crews responded to reports of a fire in the open. This turned out to be a false alarm as following a search of the area no fire was found

Olivers Mount Scarborough time of call 22:16

Crews from Scarborough attended  a straw fire approximately 10 x 20 metres. Crews monitored fire and allowed it to die out. The cause is believed to be accidental.

Harrogate – Time of call 23:21

Harrogate crews responded to an alarm activation, this was a false alarm.

Knaresborough – Time of call 00:03

Knaresborough and Harrogate crews responded to an automatic alarm activation. This was a false alarm.

Crosshills, Keighley  (Skipton)– Time of call 00:21

Skipton crews responded to a number of cars on fire at a garage. 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and 2 x 9 litre foam and dry extinguishers were used to extinguish the fires. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Colburn – Time of call 01:17

Colburn and Richmond crews responded to an automatic alarm activation, false alarm.

Filey time of call 01:25

Filey crews assisted ambulance crews in gaining access to a property in order to treat a patient.

Hackness, Scarborough time of call 05:56

Scarborough crew attended an automatic fire alarm sounding in a BT exchange. No fire found.

Melsonby, Nr Richmond time of call 06:16

Richmond crew mobilised to assist ambulance gain entry to property, on arrival no assistance was required.
