Incident Summary Saturday 25th August Day Shift

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time 1054    Location: A165 Cayton

 

Scarborough crews attended reports of a car smoking. The smoke was caused by a brake fault, no fire. The crew cooled the wheel with a hose reel.

 

Time 1055    Location: Cross Street, Scarborough

 

Scarborough crew made contact with the occupant after reports of a gas cooker left on, no need to gain entry.

 

Time 1101    Location: Belle Vue Street, Filey   

 

Filey crew assisted an occupant after she was unable to get out of her stair lift due to it being stuck. Crews made the stair lift safe.

 

Time 1200    Location: Raincliffe Woods, Scarborough

 

Fire in woods believed caused by a carelessly discarded barbecue. Scarborough crew used knapsack sprayers and spades.

 

Time 1212    Location: Ure Bank Top, Ripon

 

Ripon crew extinguished a large stack of wood being burned after it became out of control for the owner. 1 hose reel and 1 x 45mm jet used.

 

Time 1254    Location: The Avenue, Harrogate

 

Harrogate crew used a 9 metre ladder to assist two females that had become trapped in an upstairs bedroom.

 

Time 1340    Location: Near Thruscross Reservoir

 

A fire in woodland involving around 60 square metres was dealt with by Summerbridge crew using a hose reel.

 

Time 1433    Location: A64 Malton

 

Crews from Malton dealt with a fire involving a Range Rover on Malton bypass dual carriageway. Hose reels, breathing apparatus and dry powder extinguishers were used.

 

Time 1552    Location: Clotherholme Road area, Ripon

 

Ripon crews attended reports of smoke in a property. On arrival crews found a pan left unattended on the hob, no fire.

 

In addition to the above incidents our crews attended automatic fire alarm activations in Ripon, West Lilling and York.  All were false alarms
