Summary- Tuesday 20th June Day Shift

Please see below a round up of incidents from Tuesday 20th June Day Shift

Incident 5335  Time 0953 – Whitley Area

A large fire seen by a motorist from the M62 was found to be controlled burning after investigation by Selby crew.


Incident 5336  Time 0953 – Upper Price Street, York


Reports of a ‘bang’ and flames coming from a grate in the road were found to be caused by an electrical fault in cables underground. York crew, Police and Electricity company all attended.

Incident 5343  Time 1445 – Landing Road, Gateforth, Selby

Selby crews dealt with a large rubbish fire using a hose reel. The fire was caused deliberately.


Incident 5346  Time 1635 – Kingwood, Markington.


A Ripon crew extinguished a car fire. Fire was in the rear wheel arch of a Subaru Impreza. A hose reel and thermal image camera were used.



In addition to the above incidents our Fire crews attended fire alarm calls in York (x3).  All were false alarms.
