Road Traffic Collision - A64 Claxton

Location:  A64 Claxton

At 0749 hours the Fire Service were called to a Road Traffic Collision on the A64 at Claxton.  Fire Crews from Huntington and York attended.  Upon arrival crews found the incident involved a Renault LGV, Ford Focus, a Volkswagen Fox and a motorbike.  The driver of the motorbike a male aged 25 years was suffering from chest, shoulder and arm injuries and was taken to hospital by road ambulance.  All persons were out of the other vehicles except for the driver of the Ford Focus, a male aged 55 years who was trapped.  Fire crews removed the roof of the vehicle using cutting equipment to enable him to be extricated.  He was then placed on a spinal board suffering from back and neck injuries he was then taken to hospital.  Fire Crews then made the scene safe.
