Road Traffic Collision - A171, west of Whitby

10th August 2015

Location: A171 west of Whitby 

Time: 0219 hours 

Fire engines from Whitby and Lythe have been called to a road traffic collision on the A171 west of Whitby.

The incident involved a Vauxhall Corsa which had collided with a stone barn and burst into flames.  Fire damage was confined to the engine compartment.

1 male occupant of the vehicle was extricated by fire crews using hydraulic cutting equipment, hydraulic spreaders, lighting and hand tools.  Crews also used 1 hosereel to extinguish the fire.

Incident left with Police.
