Road Traffic Collision - A64, Kirkham Priory

7th April 2015

Location: A64 westbound near Kirkham Priory junction

Time: 1124 hours

Fire appliances from Malton, Huntington and Pickering have been called to a 2 car road traffic collision on the westbound carriageway of the A64 near to the turn off to Kirkham Priory.

The incident involved a Vauxhall Corsa with 1 occupant and a Lexus 200 with 2 occupants.

The female driver of the Corsa was not trapped and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An elderly male and female in the Lexus were not physically trapped but were unable to get out of the vehicle due to its position and proximity to the central reservation barrier.  Fire crews used a winch to move the vehicle and hydraulic spreader to remove a door to allow the 2 occupants to climb from the vehicle. Both have been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
