Road Traffic Collision - A66 near Newsham

12th July 2015

Location: A66 near Newsham 

Time: 1231 hours 

Fire engines from Richmond, Colburn and Barnard Castle have been called to the scene of a road traffic collision on the A66 near to the Newsham junction.

A male and a female in a BMW 330 were out of the vehicle on our arrival.  They have both been taken to hospital by road ambulance with chest, back, neck and arm injuries.

An elderly male and female were trapped in a Citroen C3.  They have been released by fire crews and taken to hospital via air ambulance suffering leg and arm injuries.

Fire crews have used hydraulic cutting equipment and first aid kit.
