Road traffic collision - The Stray, between Welburn and Slingsby

Location: near Castle Howard, The Stray, between Welburn and Slingsby

Time: 1904 hours

2 fire engines from Malton have been called to dealwith a road traffic collision on The Stray between Welburn and Slingsby.

It would appear that a Toyota Land Cruiser with 1 female occupant had left the road and ended up in a ditch.  Whilst attempting to push and steer the vehicle, the female slipped and became trapped between the ground and the vehicles underbody trim.

Fire crews used airbags to raise the vehicle and rescue the female. She has been taken to hospital by road ambulance with non life threatening pelvic and leg injures.
