Roof Fire - Knaresborough

24th October 2015

Time of call: 11:51

Location: High Bond End, Knaresborough

At 11:51 we received reports of a residential fire in Knaresborough and at 11:57 we received a back up call stating the fire had now spread though the roof.

In total we mobilised 4 pumps from Ripon, Boroughbridge, Harrogate and Knaresborough along with the aerial ladder platform at Harrogate.  Crews made an attendance at this incident at 11:58 and immediately began firefighting operations.

Upon arrival crews discovered the roof was well alight and was showing signs of collapse, at 12:32 crews withdrew breathing apparatus crews and began using the aerial ladder platform to attack the fire from above.  Currently we still have all our crews in attendance exposing and damping down hotspots.

At 15:53 we received a stop message from this incident and the fire was confirmed out, this incident has since been scaled down and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service plan to revisit this incident periodically to check that no further hotspots remain.
