Round up of incidents night shift - Sunday February 14th

Cigarette bin fire – Larch Road, Selby Time of call 18:33

Fire crews from Selby put out a small fire involving a cigarette bin. They used buckets of water.

 Small fire in the open - Barlby Time of call 18:54

Fire crews from Selby attended a small rubbish fire. They put it out using 1 hose reel.

 Chimney Fire – North Road, Malton Time of call 19:06

Fire crews from Malton attended a Chimney fire

 Road Traffic Collision – Beck Hole road, Goathland Time of call 19:20

Fire crews from Whitby, Lythe and Goathland attended a road collision involving one vehicle that was on its side. No people were trapped. One male casualty was treated by crews at the scene, he was then left in the care of Paramedics.

 Smoke sighted in open– A63, South Milford Time of call 19:30

Fire crews from Selby investigated reports of smoke seen in the area. This turned out to be a large amount of conifers being burned under supervision. No action was required by Fire Service

 Road traffic collision – High Winsley Farm Track, Winsley Time of call 19:59

Single vehicle road traffic collision, two people inside vehicle were cut out by Fire crews but they were uninjured.

 Road traffic collision – A64 Ganton Time of call 21:14

Two vehicle Road traffic collision. No people trapped. Three casualties given first aid by crews at the scene.

 Male stuck in bath – Thorn Tree Avenue, Filey Time of call 21:41

Fire crews from Filey assisted an elderly male who was unable to get out of bath. Crews moved male into bedroom where he was left with a family friend

 Fire in woods – Templar Way, Selby Time of call 00:41

Fire crews from Selby attended a pile of fence posts well alight.  Crews used 1 hose reel to put fire out.

 Automatic Fire Alarm – Ramsey Close, York Time of call 01:05

Fire crews from York attended alarm activation at a premises on Ramsey Close. This was caused by a fault with the alarm system

 Smoke filled property – Bell Close, Scarborough Time of call 02:22

 Fire crews from Scarborough attended initial reports of a smoke alarm sounding, on arrival the property was filled with smoke. Elderly male occupant was rescued by crews as the alarm had not woken him. A pan left unattended was the caused. Male was given oxygen for slight smoke inhalation by crews until arrival of ambulance.

 Road traffic collision – A648, Bedale Time of call 03:51

Fire crews attended a single vehicle Road traffic collision. No people trapped. Crews assisted Ambulance crews with first aid and scene safety.

 Water Rescue – River Ouse, York Time of call 06:34

Fire crews from York and Acomb assisted Police with a search of the River Ouse for a person believed to have been seen in the river. The incident was left with the police.
