Please see below a round up of incidents from Sunday 2nd September Day Shift

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Thirkill Driver, Harrogate – Time of call: 10.04

Harrogate appliance attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential premises, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by a faulty detector.

Huntington Road, York – Time of call: 11.50

Huntington appliance attended an automatic fire alarm at an educational premises, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

 Middleham, Hawes – Time of call: 12.08

An appliance from Hawes attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential property, this alarm was caused by cigarette smoke. Crews gave advice to the occupant.

Highfield Lane, Womersley, Selby – Time of call: 12.17

A crew from our Selby station attended a fire involving undergrowth in a wooded area. Crews used knapsacks, a light portable pump and main jets to extinguish the fire and dampen down the area. It is believed the fire was a caused accidentally

Old Malton Road, Malton – Time of call: 12.22

Malton attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential building, this was a false alarm caused by an unknown fault on system.

Sutton on the Forest – Time of call: 12.28

Appliances from Huntington and Easingwold were mobilised to a shed fire. The shed suffered total fire damage and crews used 1 hose reel jet and 2 breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and dampen down the area. The cause of the fire was accidental.

Sutton Under Whitestonecliffe – Time of call: 12.54

A crew from Thirsk attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential premises, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by a fault on system.

Strensall, York – Time of call: 15.45

Huntington crew investigated reports of smoke scene in the area. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by controlled burning that was under supervision. Crews gave advice to the occupier.

Skiplam, Kirkbymoorside – Time of call: 15.35

Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside extinguished a baler on fire in a field. The baler server sever fire damage and crews used 2 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. It is believed the fire was cased by an overheated bearing in the machine.

Chapel Street, Thirsk – Time of call: 16.52

Thirsk attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential building, this turned out to be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.
