Tumble Dryer Fire - Harrogate

Location:  Anchor Road, Harrogate

At 2012 the Fire Service were called to a tumble dryer on fire in the Anchor Road area of Harrogate.  Two fire crews from Harrogate attended.  The elderly occupant a female aged 91 years was suffering from slight smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by ambulance crew.  The fire caused 10% fire damage to the dryer and 5% fire damage to the floor surrounding the tumble dryer and 10% smoke damage to the kitchen.  Smoke alarms were fitted and did actuate.  Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property.  The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault.
