Fire Service and Belzona to Conduct a Training Exercise

19th February 2015

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have gratefully accepted the offer made by Belzona Polymerics Ltd, to utilise their site for the purpose of holding a training exercise. The two organisations have previously worked closely together when the management team at Belzona had approached the Fire Service to comment on Emergency Plans that they had put in place. The Fire Service have been able to attend the site on several occasions to gather risk information and integrate their own action plans with those made by Belzona.

The training exercise will be conducted on February 22nd 2015 from 09:30 until 11:30. It will involve fire crews attending from Harrogate, Knaresborough, Summerbridge, Masham, Ripon and Northallerton.

A scenario has been devised that will test the Fire Service’s response to an incident. Holding the exercise on this site gives the crews first hand experience of practicing their actions in a more realistic environment, whilst still being able to maintain the high levels of safety required. The management team at Belzona will be able to have first hand experience of the way the Fire Service conducts its operations at a large scale incident. The Belzona team will be on hand to assist and answer questions. This would be exactly what  would be required if it were a real incident.

Established in 1952, Belzona has pioneered innovative polymer technology that has revolutionised construction, fabrication and maintenance procedures. Belzona is known for offering turnkey solutions and takes pride in the quality of materials as well as the comprehensive training and field support provided to ensure the highest possible application standards.
