Bonfire/Firework Related Incidents 2016

Here is a round-up of bonfire/firework related incidents we attended over the weekend. 

04/11/2016 20:26 Whitby Small Fire in Open

Small fire in the open to materials, piled up ready for bonfire night, which were ignited. Crews used 1 hose reel jet.

05/11/2016 15:40 North Marine Road, Scarborough. Bin fire

Bin fire caused by fireworks. Hose reel jet used.

05/11/2016  17:20 field behind, Hopper Hill Road, Scarborough. False Alarm Good Intent.

Organised bonfire. landowner contacted and attended

05/11/2016  17:36 Green Lane, Whitby. Fire in open

Incident involved large bonfire left unattended, deliberately set alight. 1 hose reel, ceiling hooks, wildfire back pack and shovels used.

05/11/2016  18:40 Endcliff Crescent, Scarborough. False alarm good intent

Large bonfire in rear garden had died down on arrival of crew. Advice given to residents

05/11/2016  19:45 Ploughlands, York. Small fire in open.

Approximately 15m of conifer hedge on fire, spread from bonfire. 1 hose reel used.

05/11/2016  22:42:50 Sandhill Lane, Selby. Fire Safety Advice

Incident involved safety concerns over leftover fireworks from organised event. Crews used buckets of water to submerge fireworks so the fireworks were no longer a concern to the public.
