We want your views on our budget proposals

5th January 2015

At its meeting on 11th February 2015, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority (The Authority) will be considering a detailed report setting out a proposed budget for 2015/2016.

The Authority will be considering a range of options which may be available to it, from a freeze on Council Tax to an increase of 1.99%. The table (below) shows how those options would affect your household.

Ian Young Director of Finance and Technical Services said:  “Although the Authority continues to make savings the overall financial position including reductions in Government support means that the Authority cannot rule out seeking an increase in council tax. We would welcome comments from members of the public on what level of council tax increase they would be prepared to support. The feedback we receive will assist the Authority when it considers a range of budget management options at its meeting in February.”

A full copy of the budget report considered by the Fire Authority in December is available on our website here.
