Make a splash at your local fire station

14th March 2012

Fire fighters up and down the country are preparing to roll up their sleeves to take part in the National Car Wash this March, raising vital funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.

Firmly established on the fire and rescue service calendar, the National Car Wash is the charity's largest national fundraising event of the year.  Motorists are invited to take their car along and have it washed in return for a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity, the UK’s leading provider of services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

Car wash events are being held at the following locations across North Yorkshire:

  • Harrogate Fire Station                       17th March 2012          10:00-1600

Chief Executive of The Fire Fighters Charity, John Parry, added: “The National Car Wash provides a vital source of income for our charity, as well as being a fun event with a serious safety message. As a charity, we rely entirely upon donations from the general public and the fire and rescue community. We would like to encourage members of the public to show their support for our fire fighting heroes by visiting their local fire station - and afterwards drive away safely, in a clean car!"
