Charity Car wash at York

2nd March 2010

Fire fighters from York and Acomb fire stations have teamed up with David Lloyd Health Club on Hull Road, York to offer a car washing service to raise funds for charity.

On Saturday 20th March between 10.00a.m and 4.00p.m Fire fighters will wash your car in the car park at David Lloyd Health Club. All they will ask is that you make a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity, which helps members of the Fire Service community, their families and burns victims in times of need or following injury.

There will also be community safety advice and information on offer.

Fire fighter Terrence Gregg  from York Fire station is helping to organise the event and said;

 “This is a great way to meet with the communities we serve. We can clean their cars and answer any questions they may have about fire safety and the work we do. The Fire fighters charity is totally reliant on voluntary donations for the invaluable work it does and we never know when one of us may need its help. I would also like to thank David Lloyd Health Club for supporting this event by providing the venue and, as an added incentive, donating free family day passes to drivers who have their car washed on the day”.
