RRO Court Appearance Statement -24th August 2012

Under regulatory responsibilities and associated duties in promoting public safety, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority have asked the magistrates to consider a series of alleged breaches (currently 17 counts) of the Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order (2005) (RRO), identified by officers of North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service following their investigations into the cause of a fire which occurred at Buckrose Court on the 5th September 2009, and the subsequent investigations in support of enforcement action related to a number of fire safety deficiencies within the premises.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority can confirm that Mr. Alan Foster has appeared before Scarborough Magistrates Court today, 24th August 2012, in connection with alleged breaches of the regulation at the Tannery, Buckrose Court and also Buckrose House in September and October 2009 and August 2011.

The case has been adjourned to York Crown Court on the 1st October 2012.
