Tumble Dryer Safety

2nd June 2016

You may be aware of safety concerns regarding a number of tumble dryers manufactured between April 2004 and September 2015, where there is a risk of fire caused by fluff coming into contact with heating elements.

The affected brands are:

  • Hotpoint

  • Indesit

  • Creda

  • Swan

  • Proline

Further information is available here; http://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk/product-recalls/2016/03/hotpoint,-indesit,-creda,-swan-and-proline-tumble-dryers/

As with all electrical products, we would always recommend following the manufacturers instructions. We would also recommend registering your products so you can be notified of recalls.

You can find if an electrical product has been recalled on the Electrical Safety Council website http://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk/product-recalls/ and register your electrical appliances here http://www.registermyappliance.org.uk/
