Grassington Station Opening

5th July 2013

Chairman of the Fire Authority, Cllr John Fort, performed the official opening of the new fire station at Grassington, on Thursday 4th July 2013.

The ceremony was attended by the crew from Grassington and surrounding stations,  members of the Fire Authority, members of the Grassington, Linton and Threshfield Parish Councils, and representatives from partner organisations.

Chief Fire Officer Nigel Hutchinson thanked everyone for attending, and praised the dedication of the Grassington fire crew who  provide a valuable service to their local communities.

An artwork competition was held in the lead up to the event with entries from two local primary schools; Grassington and Threshfield. The winning entries were selected by the Chief Fire Officer and the winners were presented with a framed copy of their artwork, a framed certificate and a lego fire engine during the opening event. The winning entries will be displayed in the lecture room of the fire station.

Following the ceremony guests were invited to have a tour of the new station.
