NYFRS LIFE Project receives a High Sheriff Certificate and Award

14th June 2010

Chief Fire Officer Nigel Hutchinson was presented with a High Sheriff Certificate and Award at the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire, Richard Compton’s, Reception at Newby Hall on Friday 4th June.
The award was for the LIFE Project which is a scheme run by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service for young people, which aims to address the consequences of anti-social behaviour, raise self esteem and improve communication skills and teamwork.

The previous High Sheriff of North Yorkshire, Francesca Horsfield nominated the LIFE project for an award in recognition of its valuable service to the Community, after she attended a LIFE project at Skipton Fire Station in January 2010.

Chief Fire Officer Nigel Hutchinson says: “It was a great honour to receive this award from the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire for the work that we do for young people. I would like to pass my thanks to Mark Upton and the LIFE Trainers for their hard work organising and running the LIFE courses, and to Francesca Horsfield for nominating the LIFE project for this award.”
