We want your views on our budget proposals

6th January 2017

At its meeting on 17th February 2017, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority (The Authority) will be considering a detailed report setting out a proposed budget for 2017/2018.

Although the Authority continues to make savings, reductions in funding from Government of over 10.5% means that the Authority will be considering an increase in Council Tax of up to 1.99%. The table below shows how that would affect your household.

We would like your views on these proposals. If you would like to give us feedback, please email CAO.ServiceInformation@northyorksfire.gov.uk, visit our Facebook page North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, or find us on Twitter @NorthYorksFire by 3rd February 2017

A full copy of the budget report considered by the Fire Authority in December is available on our website here.

Ian Young Director of Finance and Information said:  “Although the Authority continues to make savings, the continuing reductions in Government financial support means the Authority cannot rule out seeking an increase in Council Tax. We would welcome comments from members of the public on the Budget report and what level of council tax increase they would be prepared to support. The feedback we receive will assist the Authority when it considers the final budget report at its meeting in February.”
