Road Safety Event- Northallerton Town Sqaure

3rd June 2014

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service is supporting the Chief Fire Officers Association’s (CFOA) UK Road Safety Week with an event in Northallerton on the 11th June.

CFOA’s UK Road Safety Week runs from the 9th- 15th June 2014, with the theme of ‘Be Safe Out There’ which has specific emphasis on pedestrians, cycling, motorcyclists and young drivers.

The event in Northallerton Town Square runs from 11am to 3:30pm and is being supported by North Yorkshire Police and the Road Safety Team from North Yorkshire County Council who will be giving out information and advice.

Blue Watch from Northallerton Fire Station will be carrying out a road traffic collision demonstration, and there will be a simulated rescue from a crashed car between 1:30-2pm.

Northallerton Fire Station would welcome donations of scrap cars (MOT failures etc) for firefighters to practice valuable and lifesaving rescue techniques on.  If you have a car you wish to dispose of it would be greatly appreciated.  Please call 01609 751010 for further details.
