Business Engagement Seminar for Residential Care Homes-Scarborough

10th February 2015

In light of a number of recent fatal fires and fire injuries in Residential Care Homes in the UK, including one where a social landlord for older people was ordered to pay more than £170,000 for breaching fire safety laws after a woman died in a care home fire, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service is hosting a free business engagement seminar in Scarborough.

Watch Manager Graeme Casper from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force in October 2006. Under this order, no matter how small the premises, there is now a responsibility to make sure your premises and occupants are made safe with regard to risk from fire.”

“We are holding this free seminar in order to help those responsible for care homes to be able to complete their fire safety risk assessment, and be aware of procedures in the event of fire and for evacuation.”

The event will be held on Tuesday 17th March 2015 at: The Street, 12 Lower Clark St, Scarborough YO12 7PW ( YO12 7PP for Sat-Navs).

If you would like to attend, please register your interest by completing the ‘Business Safety Book a Place’ Form on our website here or by calling 01723 374433. Please state your preference of a morning or afternoon seminar.
