Draft Prevention and Protection Strategies

Our current prevention and protection strategies end in March 2016. We have, therefore, produced new draft versions of these strategies to come into effect after this date.

We are interested in gathering feedback on the draft strategies and have produced a short survey (for each strategy) which can be accessed further down this page.

The outcomes of the consultation will be reported to the Fire Authority in February 2016.

Prevention (Community Safety)

'Prevention' is the work undertaken by the Service to reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by fires, road traffic collisions and other emergencies, by reducing the frequency and impact of those emergencies. This is primarily done through the provision of advice and education.

You can view our draft Prevention (Community Safety) Strategy here.

We are currently consulting on our draft prevention strategy and would be interested in hearing your views. If you would like to comment on this strategy please complete the short survey available here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/preventionstrategy

This consultation closes on Friday 18th December 2015.

Protection (Business Fire Safety)

‘Protection’ refers to the work in respect of the Authority’s legislative and enforcement responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, along with other primary and secondary legislation, government guidance and industry best practice, as it relates to non-domestic premises.

You can view our draft Protection (Business Fire Safety) strategy here.
